RE meeting

I am feeling confident about the RE project with Leigh after meeting with Dr. Nita in qwaq. I think we have some great ideas, it's just putting them to use! We are going to set up a rotation of technology stations for our group to sample and vote on the ones they would purchase (hypothetically) next year for our school. It should be interesting!

Public Relations Project

Originally, Rebecca, Jeri, Heather and I wanted to work together to merge two of our ideas. But after careful thought, we decided it would be MORE work to combine than to seperate. So, Rebecca and I are working on a Camp Themed week in the library. I do a camp week in my classroom and it is the highlight of the year. Other grade levels and classes come to visit and check out the humongous tent set up in my room. So I wanted to apply these ideas into our PR project. We came up with some great ways to integrate the theme with summer reading and storytelling. The keystone event will be an overnight field trip to a campground or YMCA retreat. Hypothetically, I think it may be a hard trip to pull off, but our school has a parntership with the YMCA so I think an alternative could definitly be arranged. I know last year we were planning on an overnight with a few classes, but by the end of the year we had spent ENOUGH time with the little ones...twenty four hours was overkill.
